1 starI changed jobs and changed insurance to Cox Health. I have submitted two separate referrals from my previous provider and 3 months later my referral is still under review by a doctor. I am having trouble just getting approved so a medical professional can see me. This never happened with Mercy. Terrible service.Review fromSalvacion D

1 starMISLEADING billing practices. They do NOT disclose pricing information, even though I asked the staff several times. They simply said REMOVEDwill handle that."They present themselves as an urgent care, but will later bill you $700+ when you wait 2 hours to see a doctor, the doctor is in the room for 2 minutes and doesn't even physically examine you. "Here's a boot, go home"They charge Emergency Room rates for what is ostensibly an REMOVEDcenter. They claim they are "REMOVEDPlus" in order to justify their exorbitant, excessive prices, and intentionally mislead and obscure their actual pricing when you ask. They claim that since they are next door to an Emergency Room, even though they do NOT offer REMOVEDservices, they can get away with charging these prices. They are taking advantage of people who are seeking what they think will be an "affordable" REMOVEDservice, REMOVEDor so, but not $700+. This is unethical and misleading and there are already several other reviews online about this clinic and provider to the same effect. I have spent months trying to work on a resolution with CoxHealth staff, even filing a formal complaint against the clinic (they prescribed a boot for an ankle injury which actually exacerbated the injury and then had the gall to sneakily bill me over $700 for "service."). When I called and called and asked and asked where they got a $700 "service" charge from and what it entailed, no one offered any answers. They then have the audacity to send you to collections even when you are consistently making payments every month. AVOID COXHEALTH AT ALL COSTS!Review fromVickie R

1 starNO STARS for this place!!! My husband was in REMOVEDSurgical Center for a surgery to his shoulder from a REMOVEDcomp injury. I'm not from REMOVEDdon't know my way around there. I live 2 hours away. When we first went in my husband's nurse said where in Spfld. do you want his prescription sent. I said ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE IN REMOVED!! I reitereated that sentiment many times over the next several minutes. It was supposed to be sent to our local pharmacy. When my husband came back into the room, this nurse told me to give her my phone, she preceded to type in some sort of directions, then handed it back to me. I said what's this, she said," the pharmacy here in town where we called the meds into. I said, NO, I'm not driving all around this town, I want them transferred. She went back to talk to the REMOVED. She came back & said the PA said "NO, I'm not transferring them, she can go get them they are just down the street, it's not that big of a deal". I said that's f... bu....it, I told you repeatedly NOT to send them to Spfld. ( Yeah so much for all the hooplah this hospital writes about how their patients have so many rights). I said, well you tell her to tell ME that. She gave me the PA's name - REMOVED. Well Ms. REMOVEDdid tell me that, repeatedly on the phone. This hospital made the REMOVEDgetting irate with me about it. Well that didn't go over very well, I got just as irate right back at her. She calls my husband later & says she's on his side' yet for 3 hours Ms. REMOVEDfought back & forth with us, the pharmacist at the pharmacy where we wanted it transferred, still refusing to transfer the prescription until it was said , ok fine, we'll get a prescription from our pcp tomorrow & we'll just contact a lawyer about you, and we hung up. That changed her tune. She called back & said she had called in a new prescription for both meds. She lied, She only called in one of them. My advice, go to Mercy Hospital, avoid REMOVED.Review fromKim C

1 starThe medical team I have dealt with for the past 3 years has been absolutely amazing. My doctor has saved my life with my cancer many times now. The REMOVEDis the reason for my low score. I am very disappoint with billing. They have turned several bills over to collections when I did not receive the bills. When I inquired about this I was told that they can recall 2 bills from collections, but the others have to stay because, as they state, I called 8 times from 4/8/23-4/20/23 and did not talk to anyone and did not leave a call back number. This is absolutely not true. I sent REMOVED, the patient advocate a snapshot of my phone calls during this time and there we absolutely NO phone calls to Coxhealth Billing Dept. I am on a payment plan now for all bills coming through, however they are leaving bills in collection. Why? I suspect because this 3rd party has already paid them, likely pennies on the dollar, and REMOVEDdoes not want to make that exchange again. Its all about $$. I understand they have a business to run. I have great insurance, they are a non profit. Come on REMOVEDget it together in billing. So many complaints on their billing department. Like I said my medical staff is the best in the world, but billing is very frustrating to say it kindly.Review fromTeresa M

1 starI just want to let everyone know I was scheduled for surgery on 1/16/24 only to have it canceled the day before due to pending authorization, now this surgery was scheduled on 12/13/24 and not put in until 1/3/24. There was plenty of time to get the authorized but they dropped the ball . Thanks for nothing you lost out on several thousands of dollars because of this.. Probably not going to go thru this procedure now, thanks for looking out for my health, sincerely ticked off customer..Review fromJudy M

1 starOnly giving them a one star because I can't give them less than that. Husband had colonoscopy and was charged over $8000. We were told that insurance would cover it as it was preventative procedure. We received our Bill for over $1,171. This is not what we were told. Way above average cost for preventative procedure. Shame on Cox Health.Review fromMackenzie P

1 starI cannot speak for other locations but this hospital has been a horrible experience for my family for years now. We have had to submit my grandmother on multiple occasions due to her many health problems. Everytime we go 9 out of 10 of the nurses and CNA's have been rude, have been physically rough, lied to us about her current condition, and were seemingly deliberately refusing to assist/ had very poor attitudes when assistance was needed. REMOVEDand communication could have seriously improved this review, someone needs to talk with the staff and possibly enforce more training. I use to make excuses like maybe they had a bad day or they just lost a patient but then again this has been a consistent problem. I have a family member who works here and is extremely compassionate and caring and even they said that they want to leave based on the methods and behavior of staff. This is the most important price of information, my grandmother had been seeing wound care for amputated toes. They cleaned her up and wrapped it up and said to make sure her foot stayed wrapped. We followed those instructions, a week later REMOVEDwas unable to speak clearly, walk to the restroom, or eat. We called an ambulance and were told she was being rushed to surgery to have her leg amputated. Even after the amputation, her body was riddled with infection. She was given Tylenol for her amputated leg and no other pain medications, the nurses and CNA's were reluctant to help her eat even though she couldn't lift her arms. Anytime I asked the charge nurse about REMOVED's health, white blood count, if she's eating, what medications they were giving through the IV she would say, "I don't know". They would not keep us up to date on what rooms she was being transferred to. They sent her to the nursing home we specifically told the social worker we did not want her sent to with a severe infection and without contacting us at all, this was 5 days prior to when she was supposed to be moved.
